SKIPTON returned to winning ways in the Aire-Wharfe League Division Two with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Illingworth.

Swing bowler Iqbal Khan was the man who set up their success by taking 5-47 as Illingworth were dismissed for 147.

Khan, who came on as second change rather than opening the bowling as normal, found the conditions to his liking.

James Mukherjee (2-23) had removed the two openers before Khan worked his way through the middle and lower order batting.

Only Matthew Smith with a defiant 54 appeared at ease as the last seven wickets tumbled for 36 rums.

Skipton were determined not to squander the good work of their bowlers.

South African Pieter Coetzer (76no) led the run chase and was well supported by opener Shahid Nadeem 45.

Addingham’s hopes of challenging for promotion took a knock when they went down by six wickets to Knaresborough.

Henry Barrow (40) and Nick Thornton (33) top scored in Addingham's total of 160 as they were kept in check by good bowling from Sam Davies (5-44).

Knaresborough knocked off the runs for the lost of four wickets with opener Tom Beasley making an unbeaten 80.

Steeton were frustrated by the weather when they seemed poised to secure a win to ease their Division One relegation fears.

After Paul Hardwick (4-50), Josh Gill (3-65) and James Emmott (3-34) restricted Bilton to 183 and with John Akrigg (51no) going strong, Steeton had high hopes of easing their relegation worries only to be halted by the rain when they were 80-2.

The Division Three match between bottom team Upper Wharfedale and Silsden was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
