RELEGATION-THREATENED Steeton fell short in a tightly-contested Division One contest against Burley.

The visitors were put into bat by Steeton captain Stephen Pearson and amassed 291 from their 50 overs.

Jason Wright hit six sixes and six fours on his way to an aggressive 86. Sam Owen (43), Nick Brook (39) and Ed Brown (46) also chipped in for Burley.

Stephen Pearson and James Emmott were the pick of the Steeton bowlers with Pearson taking 3-76 from 12 overs and Emmott taking 2-54 from 15 overs, in a metronomic spell which included three maidens.

In response, Steeton fell short, reaching just 236-8 in their 50 overs. John Akrigg (95) got his side off to a good start, hitting ten fours and one six before falling to the bowling of Brown (2-52). The rest of Steeton's batting line-up struggled with only Pearson (35) and Adam Hardwick (22) managing to make scores worthy of note.

Addingham beat Thackley by 27 runs to keep their Division Two promotion push alive. Batting first, Addingham were bowled out for just 132 from 48.4 overs but Thackley were unable to chase this down and were dismissed for 105 in 34 overs.

Inconsistent Skipton were beaten away at Adel. Choosing to bat first, Skipton managed 160 from 45.3 overs.

Opener Sam Moore (53) hit 11 fours before falling to the bowling of Nick Smith (4-32).

Smith was one of two bowlers to take four wickets, the other being Ben Quirk (4-49).

In return, Adel knocked off the runs inside 41.2 overs with Mark Johnson (53) top scoring. The efforts of Iqbal Khan (2-25) and Ben Holderness (2-35) weren't enough to prevent the Skipton loss.

There were no surprises in Division Three at Hall Park as the table toppers beat struggling Silsden.

Visiting team Silsden were bowled out for just 88 from 36.5 overs, Mark McEneaney taking 6-45 from his 15 overs. The home side knocked off the runs in 29.1 overs, Steve Phillips top scoring with 37.

There was also a loss for Upper Wharfedale as they fell to Green Lane. Michael Sanderson (71) and Neil Britton (51) set Green Lane on their way to 266 from 50 overs with the wickets being shared throughout the Upper Wharfedale bowling attack.

The visitors fell 44 runs shorts, ending on 222 from 47 overs. Felix Adams (87) was the stand out batsman for Upper Wharfedale but bowling from the likes of Michael Sanderson (4-69), Azhar Mahmood (2-52) and Michael Ellis (2-44) ultimately proved too much.
