RAIN during the week had led to damp wickets and low-scoring matches in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League but that did not apply to the Division One contest between Hepworth & Idle and leaders Ingrow St John's at Westfield Lane.

Saints made 224 at Westfield Lane, with Immy Zaman scoring 78 and Deepal Dissanayke 31 as David Myers-Charles claimed 4-50.

The hosts, who are bottom, made a strong reply of 204-8, with Gary Sagar (79) and Simon McDermott (38) in the van as Nadeem Safdar took 3-53.

Second-placed Sutton were in their pomp at Haworth and rattled up 245-8, with David Snowden (84) and Chris Barrett (41) putting on 97 for the first wicket before Sam Solley made 56, with Stephen Bell (4-35) and Jacob Hudson (3-54) the best bowlers.

The West Lane side were sent back to the pavilion for 73, with Adam Bailey making 20 as Matt Shuttleworth took 4-26.

Third-placed Embsay were struggling at 127-7 before some tail-wagging got them to 171. Earlier in the innings, Elliot Stockton had made 49 and Josh Robinson 31 as Danny Pearson took 3-25.

Home side Bingley Congs were 112-7 before some tail-wagging got them to 159-9 and defeat by 12 runs. Adie Dibb top-scored with 37 as Stockton took 3-33.

Zahir Abbas (7-21) and Mohammad Ibrahim (3-22) tore through Oakworth to leave them 69 all out at Baildon Bottom.

Haworth Road reached their target for the loss of five wickets, with a possible star of the future, under-14 Bilaal Khan, taking 3-24.

Crossflatts saw off Barrowford by five wickets at Bull Holme.

Haworth Road Meths II still have a two-point lead at the top of Division Two.

They visited Wide Lane and made 213-8 on the back of Charlie Hainsworth (54) and Waj Mahmood (42) as under-14 Uwais Al Khan claimed 3-22.

Bottom side Oakworth II replied with 82, with yet another under-14, Bradley Powell, top- scoring with 30 as Thomas Kaznowski took 5-20 and Matt Hall 4-8.

Second-placed Wilsden made the long trip to the Ribble Valley and came away the points, winning by 42 runs in a low-scoring game.

Gareth Wright (36) helped the Windy Grove side to 105 as Zak Green claimed 5-29.

Chatburn were then knocked over for 63, with Mark Nerenberg (41) the only player in double figure as Chris Longley took 3-8 and Sam Mitchell 3-22.

Third-placed Ingrow are now four points behind Wilsden after they went down by five runs at Noyna.

Foulridge had been restricted to 81 in 27.5 overs, with Jake Hoyle claiming 4-29.

He then top-scored with 24 as Chris Brooker-Carey put the skids under them to have them back in the hut for 76.

At Street Lane, Ingrow St John’s II's Allah Ditta (35) and Sarum Qureshi (34) were the backbone of their 136 as Amjid Hussain took 4-43 and Mohammed Arshad 3-31.

But visitors Cowling only managed 95 in reply, with Shahid Hussain making 37 as Qureshi took 5-26.

Airedale’s top seven batters all made 20 plus, Warren Coppack leading the way with 41 as they rattled up 210-9 at home to Sandy Lane.

The Greenwood Park side managed 134 in the reply, with Mohammed Ulfat (46) leading the way as Scott Ritchie took 4-23.

At Golden View, Long Lee struggled to 133. Early in the innings, Matt Stowell made 35 before Nos nine and ten, Mark Day (34) and Craig Pullen (22) ensured they had a total to try and defend as Nick Williamson took 4-29.

Glusburn’s opener Matt Lloyd (65no) anchored the innings as the points were garnered by six wickets.

Damp conditions appear to have led to the free-scoring top two in Division Three going down to defeat in low-scoring games.

Leaders Cononley entertained Eldwick & Gilstead and restricted them to 106, with 'Mr Extras' contributing 26 and Jacob Roach 22 as Harry Parker (4-22) and Herbie Starkey (3-15) were the best bowlers.

The South Craven side were knocked over for 83 in reply, with Arnie Raistrick (3-2) and Ajeet Singh (3-16) doing most of the damage.

A point behind are Gargrave, who visited Bradford & Bingley III and slumped to a 36-run defeat.

The Wagon Laners' Adam Swallow (34) top scored as they made 92, with Ben Rhodes taking 4-29 and Stuart Weatherill 3-29.

The Skipton Road side were then shot out for 56, despite 31 from John Beckwith, thanks mainly to Matt Swallow (5-3) and Connors Hall Brown (3-18).

Bingley Congs II had a pleasant afternoon at Shires Lane, winning by seven wickets.

Embsay II were routed for 32 in 23 overs, with no batter reaching double figures.

Josh Zenner was the destroyer in chief with a fine spell of 7-22, and the visitors reached their target in 10.4 overs.

Rob Cockell (50 and 6-13) was the star of Skipton CI's 25-run victory at Bradley.

The ageless Kevin Pollard was in the runs again as he made 64 to help Thornton to 148-6.

Visitors Riddlesden were restricted to 73 in reply, with Mohammad Shahnawaz (31) top scoring as Mark Laycock (4-19) and Ian Holden (3-35) put them to the sword to take three badly-needed points.

Sandy Lane needed 42 overs to pass Barrowford’s 115-6 at Greenwood Park.

In Division Four A, Sutton II had Zafar Iqbal (27 and 3-14) to thank for a 30-run victory at home to Hepworth & Idle II.

The Royd Hill side made a modest 128 as Owen Price (3-14) and Sean McEvoy (3-26) got to work with the ball.

John McDermott (34) helped the visitors to 98, with Tony Walton taking 3-22.

Nostalgia was the name of the game at Ryshworth Park.

Evergreens Jonathan Gath (34) and Mick Brooksbank (26no) opened the innings as Crossflatts II won by nine wickets over Haworth II.

Eve Whatling, one of the few ladies playing in the the league, took 5-15 as Chatburn II romped to a 93-run victory at Sandylands.

The Ribble Valley side made 182-9, with Steve Tandy (49) and Matt Lancaster (38) leading the way as Darren Pighills took 3-46.

CI II could only muster 89 in reply, which took them 38.3 overs.

Yet another Oakworth junior, under-14 Oliver Bishop, performed well for his side.

He took 3-26 as Long Lee posted 133 at Penistone Hill, with Jan Haider making 52 and Miss Luis Spragg 31.

He then made 20 to go with 25 extras as Oakworth III replied with 112.

At The Coliseum, there was an explosive finish to Cowling II's game with Bingley Congs III.

The Beckfoot Lane side were restricted to 60 in 37.4 overs, with James Marshall making 17 and 'Mr Extras' 16 as Dominic Broughton claimed 3-13.

The hosts galloped to a fine ten-wicket victory in only 5.4 overs thanks to Qamar Zaman, who hit four fours and seven sixes in a knock of 63 not out.

Ingrow’s Ben Weatherill, with a fine 93, and Tom Bradley (52) led them to 229 at Hainworth as Nazam Hanif took 5-29.

Visitors Airedale II slumped to 42 all out in reply, with Hanif making 21 as Tony Hodgson (5-28) and Ryan Higgs (3-13) ripped through the batting.

Foulridge II conceded to Gargrave II and Bradley II to Wilsden II.

Silsden have one and three-quarter hands on the Division Four B trophy, despite second-placed Glusburn II receiving three points when Cononley II conceded.

The Keighley Road side were in danger of going down to their first defeat of the season at Denholme.

They batted first and made a modest 102, with Tom Berry (59) top scoring as Isaac Murray claimed 6-26.

Then the bowling of Keiran Lawrence (4-48), Ethan Copping (3-13) and Will Pullen (3-22) saw them to the points by just six runs.
