SKIPTON produced a dominant all-round performance to secure a resounding eight-wicket triumph over Harden - their first victory of the season.

Harden, who also went into the game looking to break their duck, were soon in trouble when they batted against a good new-ball spell from the dependable Iqbal Khan.

He claimed the first three wickets in a fine 15 over spell which was rewarded with eventual figures of 4-32.

Opener Mark Portlock was the one batsman who managed to establish himself as he made a patient 61 from 131 balls, When he was out at 114-6, one of three victims for Gary Owens, Harden looked in deep trouble.

A seventh-wicket stand of 47 between Matthew Topham (21) and Scott Hartley (19) held Skipton up for a while, but the Sandylanders eventually broke through with Shahid Nadeem bowling Hartley.

Nadim was a model of accuracy as his figures of 1-16 from 9.1 overs reflected, while Owens removed Topham as he finished with 3-41.

Harden's total of 170 was soon made to look inadequate as the Skipton openers made a rapid start. Scott Moore and Shahid dominated the bowling as they took their side within sight of victory with a superb stand of 145.

Shahid, who hit seven fours in his 54, was first to go and Moore followed 14 runs later after making 91 from just 90 balls with 16 fours.Pieter Coetzer and Graham Summersgill complered the job of seeing Skipton home with 14,4 overs to spare.

Steeton slipped to their third straight defeat in the league, leaving them bottom of Division One.

Opting to bat first at Otley, they were bowled out for just 105 in 37.3 overs.

Veteran opener John Akrigg was again in good form as he top-scored with a battling 38 but only Tom Stead, with 26, was able to provide an additional significant contribution.

Chris Thompson followed up a 4-32 spell with an unbeaten 33, including a third six to end the match, as he and Josh Atkinson (40no) steered Otley home with seven wickets in hand.

Addingham eased to a comfortable victory in Division Two by beating Ben Rhydding by 43 runs.

Addingham batted first and, while no batsman scored more than 30, enough chipped in to take their total to 170 all out, Kervon Christmas taking 4-54 for Ben Rhydding.

Rhydding's top order collapsed and only a seventh-wicket stand between Christmas (32) and Alex Miller (42) restored some respectability to the total as they folded for 127, Rob Ellis leading the way with 4-26.

Green Lane secured a comfortable 74-run victory at Silsden in Division Three.

Philip Atkinson scored his second consecutive 76 for Green Lane as they rattled up 262-7 from their 50 overs.

This was more than enough as Silsden could only make 188 all out from 37.1 overs to hand Green Lane a comfortable victory.

David Brook, recently transferred from Burley, made 51 on his debut for Silsden, while Simon Cox weighed in with 41.

Upper Wharfedale's struggles continued as they suffered a nine-wicket defeat to Bolton Villas. They were made to pay for a poor batting display which led to them being dismissed for just 97 in the 39th over. Sam Lawrence took 5-25 in an excellent 15-over spell. Kyran Clark top scored with 29 for Upper Wharfedale.

Openers Varun Devesher (47no) and Scott Clarke (31) ensure there were no alarms for Villas as they shared a partnership of 91. Joe Daggett (19) claimed the only wicket to fall.
