FORMER Skipton skipper Richard Nichols showed no mercy for his old club as he helped Division Two leaders Guiseley to a 116-run win.

Nichols, who enjoyed a highly-successful spell at Sandylands, proved why he is rated one of the best batsmen in the competition with an unbeaten century.

He stroked a six and 17 fours in his 101 not out which helped Guiseley post a score of 278-4 in their 50 overs.

Nichols was joined in a fourth-wicket stand of 168 by Michael Truswell (63) as the Skipton bowlers were given a hard time.

Only Iqbal Khan (4-51) enjoyed any success while his new-ball partner Pieter Coetzer had a tough afternoon as he returned figures of 0-74 from his 12 overs.

Skipton needed a good start if they were to challenge Guiseley's total and the loss of both openers Shahid Nadeem and Sam Moore with just 13 on the board wasn't what they were looking for.

Damon Reeve (4-40) worked his way through the middle order as Skipton were bowled out for 162. Coetzer (31) and Ben Holderness (31) were their top scorers.

Fourth-placed Addingham were forced to work hard for their two-wicket win over lowly Follifoot.

Ricky Palacio made an unbeaten 80 which enabled his side to edge past Follifoot's 187-8.

Ted Haggas was again the pick of the Addingham bowlers. He took 5-66 in his 15 overs and ensured that Follifoot couldn't push on to a more challenging score.

Upper Wharfedale are seven points adrift at the bottom of Division Three after their seven-wicket defeat by Leeds Modernians.

After winning the toss and batting first, Upper Wharfedale were dismissed for 192, a total that owed much to James Stephenson's knock of 79.

The Upper Wharfedale bowlers were unable to make any headway when Modernians batted. Openers Dwayne Heke (57) and Mansoor Hussain (47) provided a sound base which enabled their side to ease home with five overs to spare.
