Mansoor Amjad made 100 for Settle
Overseas professional Mansoor Amjad hit a century as Settle scored a comfortable 59-run Senior Division win over Padiham.
Despite losing Tom Davidson for ten, Settle made good progress as Aneeq Hassan (40) and Amjad piled on the runs. Amjad made his runs off 126 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes en route. His contribution enabled Settle to post a score of 188-8.
Eddy Read made an early strike, but Amjad (3-33) and Andrew Davidson (3-39) inflicted most of the damage.
Andrew Booth and Tom Davidson mopped up the tail as the visitors struggled to 129 all out. Leaders Barnoldswick extended their unbeaten run to 17 games as they defeated Salesbury by eight wickets.
Imran Khalid (5-39) and Faisal Hussain (4-32) bowled out Salesbury for 108, then Umar Saddique (53no) and Khalid (34no) sped their side to their target.
Earby suffered a miserable defeat at Clitheroe. Only Ali Azmat (24), Martyn Windle (12) and Aron Pollard (10) made double figures as they were dismissed for just 66 in 30 overs of struggle.
In reply Clitheroe attacked from ball one and knocked off the runs in 9.5 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Tom Lord showed no respect for Earby bowling by using a Mongoose bat and hitting two mighty sixes to finish the match. Martin Kegg claimed the two wickets to fall at a cost of 30 runs from his five overs.
Settle’s second string seem ustoppable, moving into second place in Division Two after a seven-wicket win at Feniscowles. John Tarbox took 5-16 and spinner Kieran Ashley (4-17) as the home side made 133.
