Hassan claims seven wickets but Cowling revival is halted

Cowling’s recent revival was halted by leaders Oakworth who beat them by 49 runs.

Rob Hopkinson (61no) and Jack Hainsworth (54) guided Oakworth to 198-8 despite the efforts of Charlie Hassan (7-90).

Cowling were restricted to 149-8 as Jack Davison took 4-36 and Adam Smith (4-60).

Cullingworth added to Embsay relegation fears as they thumped the home side by nine wickets.

John Golson top scored with 37 as the Shires Laners limped to 135 with Phil Poole taking 3-27 and Bevan Ravenscroft (3-29).

Openers Steve Welch (88no) and Stuart Rodgers (35) put on 134 as Cullingworth eased home.

Bottom team Cononley were agonisingly close to their first win against third-placed Haworth Road who made 175-8 with Charlie Hains- worth scoring 43 as Scott Brook took 4-26.

Relegated Cononley were bowled out for 168 despite the brave efforts of Andrew Starkey (58) and Charles Calvert (35) to lose by seven runs.

Thornton rattled up 201-6 at home to Barrowford with opener Dave Scothern carrying his bat for 81no. The Bull Holme side strolled to a six-wicket victory thanks to Liam Roberts (55), N Ahmed (48) and Wasim Ali (42).

James Heseltine scored 87 as his Bradley side made 152 at Crossflatts. The home side got home by three wickets.

Airedale have been crowned Division Two champions despite losing to second-placed Sutton by 33 runs.

Solly Zakira scored 50 as Sutton made 189 then Si Doane took 5-46 and Rob Walker (3-28) as Airedale were restricted to 156-9.

Ingrow are level on points with Sutton after beating Wilsden by nine wickets.

Embsay II won only their fourth game at Riddlesden, but it still didn’t stop them from being relegated.

The Shires Laners smashed 245-5 with Nev Allen making 103, Alan Pickles (50) and Paul Wormald (41).

Wormald completed a good day’s work by taking 7-65, as Riddlesden were dismissed for 166.

The other relegation spot is unresolved with five sides Chatburn, Wilsden,Glusburn, Pendle Forest and Foulridge covered by just two points.

Pendle Forest did themselves a power of good by beating Glusburn by 21 runs.
