Sutton Rogues, who have won the Keybury League’s Under-Ten Green Division, are already thinking about next season, when they switch to 11-a-side matches. Rogues, who won 13 of their 18 games, drawing one and losing four, are seeking a sponsor to replace Makin Dixon Solicitors.
Interested parties should contact team manager John McCamon on 07815-091566, while training is at South Craven School on Fridays at 6pm.
East Bowling U10s 0, Skipton LMS U-10s 9
Skipton LMS have made it a hat-trick of Keybury League titles, adding the under-ten Pink Division to their under-eight and under-nine crowns of the past two seasons.
This convincing win over a resilient East Bowling team gave LMS the title with a game to spare, although they had started tentatively.
Playing with the wind behind them, Skipton dominated but East Bowling defended well, even hitting LMS’ bar.
However, Josh Walker settled the nerves on eight minutes with the first of his second hat-trick in a week.
A quick-thinking goal kick from Jordan Harding was touched on by Freddie Maddocks, who laid the ball on for Walker to slot home.
Three minutes later, Matty Payne finished off another flowing move with Oliver White feeding Oliver Younger, who crossed well for Payne to score.
In the second half, Skipton were rampant and showed why they were champions with great passing and control in very windy conditions.
Maddocks got the third, with a typical solo effort and Younger the fourth before Walker completed his hat-trick.
Oliver White moved up from defence for a much deserved goal before Jordan Harding and James Phillip completed the scoring.
Bradlee Murdoch, Tyler Perks, Ed Cooper, Gregor Myles, Oliver Ambrose and Ned Kelly completed the line-up.
Bingley Under-15s 3, Silsden Under-15s 6
Silsden completed their season by winning last Sunday’s Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Cup final.
In a game Silsden were expected to win comfortably, Bingley surprised them by coming from 3-0 down at half-time to level the scores 12 minutes into the second half.
However, Silsden re-arranged their side and took a stranglehold on the game, adding three goals without reply.
Scorers for Silsden were Sam Conway (2), Isa Muvunyi (2), Chris Wademan and Tom Southgate, Tom Yeadon scoring all three for Bingley.
Silsden thus completed a league and cup double for the third time in four years.
Skipton LMS Under-14s 3, Pospect Juniors Under-14s 4
This League Cup semi-final was a remarkable match in which the dominant team was defeated.
LMS started the game brightly but failed to convert any of their first- half chances.
Ross Tennant hit the bar, Ross Greenwood fired wide and had two further efforts saved, Jake Heald fired wide and a great diving header was cleared off the line.
In between Prospect scored three times, two from corners headed in by their tall centre back.
LMS were again in charge in the second half but scored, Josh Metcalfe forcing the ball through to Tennant, who tucked it in from close range.
Skipton applied more pressure in the closing stages, Metcalfe netting and, ten minutes from time, Prospect’s keeper turned the ball into his own net from an LMS corner.
Prospect continued to be battered by a tide of blue and white from Skipton.
But, just as everyone was anticipating extra time and the possibility of a penalty shoot-out, a Prospect cross from the left resulted in an own goal.
Seconds later the referee blew the whistle for full time.
