Earby’s Richard Taylor picked up only two penalties but had to settle for second place in the first round of Bradford District Motor Club’s Autowbars Championship Trial at Deepcliffe Farm, Harden.
Although his fine perform- ance on his Montessa was good enough to take the novice section, his score was beaten by the talented Kieran Child.
The Eccleshill youngster rode all eight sections without incurring a single penalty as he headed the Youth B Class. He proved the master of the slippery rock climb on his Beta machine.
Many of the area’s talented young riders were in action. Addingham’s Edward Earle took Youth Class C while Silsden’s Josh McParland took the honours in the small wheels category.
Dougie Lampkin’s sons Alfie and Fraiser matched their cousins Harry and George Hemingway with confident attempts ‘Fearless’ Fraiser looks like he is determined to continue the Silsden family’s run of success.
