BOYS captain Ben Housley was a double winner in the second Bradford & District Amateur Swimming Association Gala at Shipley.

He was victorious in the under-15 boys' 100 metres butterfly and 50m backstroke.

The 100m butterfly was a straight final with Housley powering to victory in a time of 1min 07.53 sec.

Housley did a heat time of 32.90 in the heats and improved on that performance by clocking 31.02 to win the final.

Fenn Curran (42.06), Lewie Fitton (44.97), Joel Phillip (39.05) and Matthew Housley (41.85) were all eliminated in the heats.

Bea Waller was another double winner. She triumphed in the 14 years 100m backstroke

Girls 14 years 100 metres backstroke and 4 x 50m individual medley.

The backstroke was a straight final which she won with a time of 1.13.86, but she had to work hard for her individual medley win.

She set off with a butterfly leg of 36.22, but it was on the backstroke where she forged ahead with a time of 38.88. After a breaststroke leg timed at 47.47, she came home ahead of her rivals with a freestyle leg swam in 37.26.

Skipton's third winner of the night was girls captain Ella Phillip in the open 50 metres freestyle. A time of 31.19 gave her a deserved victory.
