SETTLE'S Diane Bullock and David Leeming had to be content with the runners-up spot in the Oakley's Mixed Doubles for the second year running.

In a repeat of last season's final, they lost to Keighley's Sharron Gadd and Chris Wilson, who retained their crown with a 15-6 success.

The event saw 16 pairs arrive compete at Broughton Road, with Bullock and Leeming getting the better of Whinfield pair of Cath Hey and Gary Hodge in the semi-finals. The Whinfield pair led 14-10 but could not get the point needed as the Settle duo scored a four and single to go through to the final 15-14.

Reigning champions Gadd and Wilson had a much more comfortable passage in their semi-final, as they were too good for Craven’s mum and son pairing, Joanne and Robbie Ellis. The Keighley pair were always in control, winning 15-3 in nine ends.

The Skipton divisional handicap cup finals saw Sutton A defeat Craven A 218-206 at Cross Hills in the Division One Ken Johnson Trophy.

Gargrave B put in a good performance to defeat Whinfield A 217-188 in the Richard Lambert Cup at Broughton Road. Craven B ensured their club earned some silverware as they got the better of Silsden PF C 168-156 in the Allan Ellis Salver at Gargrave.
