GLUSBURN'S Nathan Wrigglesworth missed out on victory by a tiebreaker in Bradford & District MC's New Years Day Trial at Manor House Farm.

The Bradford club faced up to a rapid venue change when the Deer Park venue at Bingley was declared too waterlogged to stage the event.

Fortunately, Manor House Farm, high above Glusburn, afforded fine views of a flooded Aire Valley and enough land to run a four-lap ten-section trial.

And despite the late change, a total of 52 competitors aimed for championship points.

Some travelled long distances, like Shrewsbury’s Tom Minta, who has developed a taste for northern trials and who won the hard course class by virtue of a tie breaker from Wrigglesworth, who dropped a single mark in the quarry section on lap one.

Minta also dropped a boot in the next section but on lap two.

Shelf rider Sam Boocock just headed Idle teenager Joe Faunthorpe for third place on the hard course, which signified a return to form for Joe after a few weeks not exactly delivering the right results. Engineer Richard Taylor won Clubman A from Stephen Jarman and Jason Dunning, while Thomas Bell headed Clubman B.
