MISERABLE conditions in the latest Bronte Wheelers-Neophix ten-mile time trial from Cracoe to Skipton did not affect winner Ryan Perry.
Despite a torrential downpour, the in-form army captain and national champion, riding again for Langdale Lightweights, was only a mere four seconds outside his course record with a time of 20min 21secs.
If Perry gets decent conditions, he could go under 20 minutes which would be incredible on such a tough and undulating course.
In second place was Steve Ayers, riding for VC Bradford-Pennine Cycles, with an excellent time of 22:24.
Third was Thomas Wood, of Bradford Olympic, in 23:03 while fastest junior was Bradley's Jamie Ridehalgh in 24:40 and fastest veteran was 49-year-old Darren Caines in 25:17, giving a plus of 1:24 on standard.
The next race is a 25-mile TT, starting at Stirton and going to Settle and back, before moving to the faster Kildwick 10-mile course.
