THE dry conditions made controlling the ball extremely difficult for competitors taking part in the Riseley Trophy at Settle.
This was reflected in the scoring, with only John Terry returning a below par nett score. Terry's consistency over the 18 holes gave him a (90-21=69) which was just good enough to hold off a strong challenge from former head greenkeeper James Wright.
Despite a nine on Huntworth hole, Wright fought back with an outstanding 42 on the back nine but was still three shots adrift of the winner.
Sam and Luke Wilcock continued their good run of form and took third and fourth places respectively.
