STRONG and blustery winds greeted Bronte Wheelers riders in the Neophix ten-mile time trial on the Kildwick course.
This was as opposed to the previous week when Olympic gold medallist Steven Burke's course record was beaten by Steve Irwin of North Lancashire Road Club with a time of 19min 20sec.
The winner on this occasion, with an excellent time considering the conditions, was Peter Barusevicus riding for Wheelbase with an effort of 20:27.
In second place was Rob Weir, riding for Ilkley CC, with a time of 21:25 and third was Barusevicus' younger brother, 16-year-old Alex (All Terrain), in 21:57.
First veteran home was 44-year-old Seth Smith, riding for Bradford Olympic, with a time of 22:08, giving him a plus of 4:10 on standard.
