THE punitive rough combined with difficult pin positions provided a stern challenge for the Settle golfers when they competed for the Riseley Trophy.
Once again there was a considerable number of no returns and those players who completed their rounds felt pleased with this achievement.
A few of the competitors produced exceptional rounds despite the adverse conditions.
Peter Wroe, playing off his 27 handicap, won the contest with the only par round of the day, just holding off the challenge of Chris Ward who came in with the lowest gross round of the day.
His 84-13=71 was a outstanding achievement and put in him in the runners up spot. Craig Dinsdale and Mark Vickery also came in with good scores.
