JUNIOR captain Max Berrisford has been crowned as Skipton Golf Club’s Golfer of the Year He enjoyed an excellent season winning the junior section’s Centenary Trophy, Junior Cup and Peter Tupling Trophy as well as the men’s section Club Championship.

Alongside Matt Ryder he was also tied winner of the Scratch Salver and made it to the quarter-finals of the Yorkshire Amateur Championship.

Alex Topper was named junior player of the year following victories in the Blue and Red tee competitions.

Other junior prizes winners were Jim Hartley for the Orange tee competition, Frazer Clarke and Thomas Anson for the 0-28 championship, Bobby Dixon was crowned Junior Future Masters and Hannah Eaton won the Junior Matchplay title and the Ladies Scratch Trophy.

Other winners in the ladies’ section were Ros Moloney in the Oates Cup, Judy Shaw for the YLCGA plate, Brenda Huntrods for the Victory Cup and Marcia Campbell for the Laffoley Cup.

The LGU Centenary Quaich winner was Dagmar Hecker-Woodhead, Joan Padgett won the Centenary Trophy and Sue Yule was the Brooksbank Bowl champion.

The pairing of Sarah Coy and Pat Eaton took the JS Trophy crown. The SALT trophy was won by Veronica Ansbro who was also named the most-improved player of the year while Carloyn Murphy was named player of the year wining the Belles Wyke Trophy along the way.

In the mixed events Milly Eaton and David Grant retained the Raleigh Hargreaves Trophy while Pat Eaton and Harry Ayrton won the Harold Ideson competition.

The New Year Cup winner was John Chacksfield. In the Rabbits section Ross Adley took top spot in the Jubilee Trophy with Andrew Burton winning the Liversedge Trophy. The Rabbits Matchplay champion was Trevor Scothern.

The men’s section pairs events winners were David Grant and Steve Clayton for the winter pairs league, Neil Bamber and Darren Carlos in the Wales Cup while Chris Payne and Matt Ryder took the Pairs Plate.

The winter individual titles went to Gerald Corrigan and Jason Titoreko for divisions one and two respectively.

James Freebury crowned a wonderful season taking home the Improvised Trophy, Centenary Salver and Coronation Trophy.

The Centenary Salver winner was Phil Lawler with Gordon Whinkup taking home the CIHR Cup. Chris Simpson won the John Smales Memorial Trophy and Tom Mitcham the Harold Beck Trophy.

The scratch event Frazer, Nightingale and Fell Cup saw Matt Ryder collect his third award of the evening.

The match-play title winners were George Myles in the 8-15 Craven Herald Trophy with a resurgent Paul Pethybridge taking top spot in both the Knowles Bowl and Barrett Cup.

The Donald Anslow putter for services to the club was presented to former captain, president and board member, Alistair Coy.
