THE warm sunny conditions of the Bank Holiday weekend had disappeared for Wednesday’s 10-mile Time Trial on the Cracoe to Skipton and back course promoted by Bronte Wheelers – Neophix Engineering.
The riders faced cool and damp conditions, but Bronte’s Steve Ayers seems immune to whatever conditions he faces as he sped to an excellent time of 21 minutes 23 seconds to scoop first place.
This followed his previous weekend’s third place in the Open Drighlington BC 25-mile time trial, where he posted a blistering time of 50.00, only a handful of seconds behind the winner.
In second place in Bronte’s event was Sam Richardson, of Skipton CC, in 24.40. Third was Bronte’s Darren Caines in 24.43, who also won the veterans prize.
