West Bowling were due to entertain Keighley in the Pennine League top-flight derby at Emsleys Rec on Saturday but the match has been postponed.

The game was only arranged at short notice and the visitors are unable to raise a side.

Keighley coach Keith Dixon said: “We originally had no game but I received a phone call on Monday informing me about the fixture. However, half our lads had chance to go to Langtree Park or Huddersfield for the World Cup matches and we are really struggling for numbers.

“The league said they understood and it had been an oversight on their part.”

The game will be rescheduled for another date.
