KEIGHLEY RUFC’S under-14s raised just short of £1,000 for their forthcoming tour to Scotland by helping shoppers pack their bags at Sainsbury’s in town.
The team travel north of the border in April to gain experience of playing other teams of the same age from a different region of the British Isles.
And players and their parents collected over £950 in donations after assisting customers through checkout.
Parent Dianne Richardson told Sainsbury’s charity co-ordinator Duncan Turner how grateful the team were for shoppers’ generosity.
