Brotherton Bulldogs U11s 18 Keighley Albion U11s 22

ALBION fought off a late barrage to claim a great win at Brotherton.

The Bulldogs took an early lead and despite Albion's Reece Smollen and Caleb McConville causing them problems,

increased their advantage with a score in the corner after some superb offloading.

Albion's Ben McParland then had to come off after taking a knock.

But Keighley stabilised and Evan Jones almost scored in the corner after a break from his new position of acting half.

The reintroduction of McParland rivitalised the visitors and he dotted down with another direct run close to the line. McConville added the extras.

Albion started well on the attack in the second half, but it was Brotherton who increased the lead out wide.

However Albion then hit a purple patch and Reece Smollen scored a trademark show and go, with McConville converting. The pair linked up again leading to McConville sprinting from halfway to score. He also added the conversion.

Albion put themselves two scores clear after another lung-busting charge from McParland took Albion 60 metres up field. Smollen latched on to the next play and dummied his way through the line.

Brotherton did add another try, but Albion withstood a late barrage to claim the spoils.
