Keighley Albion u-13s 24 Birstall Victoria u13s 12

Albion finished their season on a high note in recording six tries but, with conversions proving elusive, it was not until the latter stages of the game that victory over Birstall was assured.

Albion dominated the early play leading 12-0 with tries by Callum Smith, Harry Webster and Will Hartley. Birstall, however, scored on the stroke of half-time and, when they grabbed a second shortly afterwards, the scores were level and it was the visitors who had the momentum.

It needed something special for Albion to regain the initiative and Webster provided this ten minutes from time. His winding length-of-the-field run allowed Joel Livock to kick for the corner, setting up Ben Shaw to dive over.

Further tries were added by Webster and Ben Shaw to eventually make the game safe and see Albion move up into the top half of the table, finishing in fifth place with nine wins and nine losses.

Match awards went to Webster, Ciaran Bartlett, Hartley and Nathan Dickinson.
