WORTH Village were comprehensively beaten 54-6 at home to West Bowling A in Division Three West.

The Keighley side, who had not played a league match since November 28, battled well in the first half and were still in the game at the break, when they trailed 18-6. Talisman Kris Gott touched down for Village and also converted his score.

But an understrength Worth – who included veteran coach Gary Baker among their ranks – succumbed in the second half to their strong Bradford visitors, whose first team were without a game. Packman Nigel Halmshaw posted a brace for Bowling, while Ethan Egerton-Sharp landed seven conversions.

Meanwhile, Cowling Harlequins suffered a 28-24 defeat at home to Greetland All Rounders in Division Four West.
