Keighley Albion u-15s 52 Guiseley u-15s 0

FOUR tries for Harry Lewis and a brace for Joel Waddington were just reward for the Albion centres who both stood out in an excellent opening performance from the team.

Waddington opened the scoring as Albion produced some great handling. Albion's forwards were making good yards led by Jack Croft and Leon Hobson, with half-backs Harry Normington and Bobby Darbyshire orchestrating play well.

Joe Dearnley's direct driving was rewarded when he burst the Guiseley line to touch down for Albion's second.

Harry Lewis then took it up a notch as three times he was rewarded for backing himself against the Guiseley cover to stride away for a first-half hat-trick. Waddington went over for his second and Harry Normington tagged four conversions on to see Albion 32-0 up at half-time.

Keighley kept their foot on the gas, with captain Bobby Darbyshire and pack leader Jack Croft involved in everything as they scored Albion's next two tries. Max Hutchinson crossed before Lewis added his fourth after further good work by Croft and Normington set him up for Albion's final try. Normington added two conversions to leave the score 52-0.

Albion produced a promising performance in their opening pre-season friendly.

Continuous pressure from the first whistle led to the opening try as Harry Webster darted through a packed defence.

Sharks fought back as a converted try and a penalty put them 8-6 in front on the hour mark but Albion stepped up a gear to run in four tries in the final 15 minutes.

Billy Addy’s strong run out of defence led to newcomer George Georgallis going over and Will Hartley touched down in the corner. Georgallis himself ran almost the length of the field to set up Ciaran Bartlett under the posts before Aiden Barrett completed the scoring.

Silsden couldn't wait for their first pre-season run-out in which they showed vast improvement.

The pitch was heavy but the game started at great pace, with both teams showing attacking rugby. Odsal were clearly the bigger team but Silsden defended well in numbers.

The Cobbydalers led the arm wrestle for the majority of this close encounter but with six minutes to go and a win looking on the cards, a couple of simple mistakes saw Odsal take the game.

However, Silsden had no reason to be disappointed as they showed great team work and determination in poor conditions.

Joe Priestley, Joe Spencer and Jack Beck were try-scorers, with Robson Weir converting two out of three kicks.
