WORTH Village welcomed Crofton Sports ARLFC for the second league game of the season in the Yorkshire Men’s League.

The game was played in four quarters due to the heat hitting more than 20 degrees.

The first quarter saw Crofton Sports coming at Worth Village with two quick tries and two goals.

Worth Village came back in the second quarter with Robbie Kirkwood scoring under the post.

No long after with some good movement between Craig Morphet and Rocky McNulty, the latter got close to the line with a quick play of the ball Jake Feather powered his way over from close range with Kirkwood kicking the goal.

Crofton came back and scored a late try to make it 10-16 at half-time.

Worth Village came out in the third quarter with some great running and defence from Nicky Smith and Patrick Smith. Liam Sanctuary picked up an interception out wide and went to score under the posts.

Nathaniel Harding powered through Crofton’s defence 10 metres out from their line to score under the post with Kirkwood gaining another two points.

The last quarter saw Crofton scoring another try from close range making the scoreline 22-22 with 15 minutes to go.

Both sides then lost a player to the sin bin.

But Crofton got the final say gaining a penalty in Worth Village half so the saw the opportunity to kick for goal which the took advantage of.
