COMPLACENCY is not a weakness that you would usually associate with Wharfedale – but it something that coach Jon Feeley is wary of as they visit bottom-of-the-table Macclesfield  on Saturday in SSE National League One.

And the c word has come about more by the Greens' 29-19 home victory over fifth-placed Richmond last weekend than the fact that the Cheshire club have won only one league game this season.

"The danger is that we go there just expecting things to happen – and they won't," said Feeley.

At one time, however, it seemed as if Richmond would go away from The Avenue with the spoils.

Feeley explained: "I was worried when they had a line-out near our line with one minute to go but Josh Burridge managed to bring the line-out down and the next thing was Taylor Prell had got the ball near our line and beaten four players on his way to scoring under the posts at the other end, chipping their full back before re-gathering.

"Few players in our league could do that, and Taylor has raw ability and it was a superb effort, but he benefited from the hard work that all the team put in.

"Ollie Cicognini's try was special too as he went through a gap that I didn't know existed, while Josh would have been man of the match were it not for Taylor as he was really clever for his try in standing off their line-out and running ten metres with the ball before they even knew what was happening.

"Josh had the support of Aaron Myers and Rob Baldwin last season but neither of them are here at the moment, and he has had to grow up in a role that is normally associated with a more experienced and physical player, and he has become a real leader."

Wharfedale have selected the same back division, while the pack is strengthened by the return of Adam Howard from injury.

Philip Woodhead's absence (playing Sevens in Dubai) has given the selectors the opportunity to find a place on the bench for newcomer Huw Morgan, who impressed last week with the Foresters.

Fifth-placed Otley have the opposite problem to Wharfedale, visiting second-placed Ampthill in SSE National League Two North.
