WHARFEDALE won Skipton Rugby Club's popular Skiptens competition at Sandylands on Saturday.
The Greens won all their group matches against Old Rishworthians, Colne, Keighley – who fought particularly valiantly – and Skipton A, scoring 21 tries and conceding three.
The semi-final saw Wharfedale run out 50-0 winner against Old Crossleyans which took them through to a final against Bradford Salem. It proved to be a close match with the Greens finally edging home 14-7
In the Plate final Colne & Nelson recorded a 26-0 win over Baildon to take the silverware back to the Red Rose County.
Skipton new club president Tom Hayes presented the trophies and thanked all concerned for the organisation of the event.
The Yorkshire Referees' Society provided eight referees for a tournament which is establishing itself on the pre-season calendar.
