WHARFEDALE’s next opponents Plymouth Albion announced two weeks ago that, weighed down by debt, they were appointing an Administrator with a view to selling the club on to a new backer. That will result in the deduction of points, but at this stage of the season, with 84 points in the bag already, their status in National One will not be at risk.

The Devon club, just relegated after surviving in the Championship since 2002, have played only once since that announcement was made, at Ampthill last Saturday, where they conceded eight tries. On the other hand Wharfedale, having outplayed champions-elect Richmond for much of last Saturday’s encounter, will be on the front foot as they scrap to avoid relegation.

Wharfedale and Plymouth Albion fought out an epic battle at the Avenue last December, the visitors just edging out the Greens in dreadful conditions 12-9.

The Wharfedale selectors stick with the same back line-up which began last Saturday’s match, which means that the experienced Andy Hodgson continues at outside centre. In the forwards, Josh Burridge has recovered from influenza and resumes in the back row, with Dan Solomi once again appearing on the bench.

Wharfedale: Harry Bullough, Josh Prell, Andy Hodgson, Cameron Hudson, Dan Tai; Jamie Guy, Philip Woodhead, Matt Beesley, Steve Graham, Ricardo Cano, Daniel Preston-Routledge, George Hedgley, Josh Burridge, Jack Barnard, Rob Baldwin (capt), Replacements: Joe Altham, Dan Stockdale, Ali Wade, Dan Solomi, Jimmy Bullough.
