IT’S time to stand up to be counted.

If Hull Ionians win at The Avenue on Saturday, Wharfedale’s wonderful 20-year affair with rugby in the top 40 clubs in England will come to an end.

But if Wharfedale win, the visitors will join the Greens under threat of relegation, although the home side will still have to win their final matches at Fylde then at home to Coventry.

Hull Ionians first arrived in National One in 2013/14 but finished last by some margin. One season in National Two (North) was enough to see them once more promoted, and this season they have been doing somewhat better.

Last Saturday, at home to the high-flying Ampthill, they fought back to gain the two valuable bonus points which may just have saved their season.

In December Wharfedale travelled to Hull where they registered one of only two away wins this season with a last-minute try.

Dan Tai is injured, giving a chance for Oli Cicognini, out injured for most of the season, to claim the wing spot. In the forwards, Jordan Poole returns at hooker, and prop Chris Steel replaces Ali Wade, who has suffered a broken bone in his hand.

Wharfedale: Harry Bullough; Josh Prell, Andy Hodgson, Cameron Hudson, Oli Cicognini; Jamie Guy, Philip Woodhead; Matt Beesley, Jordan Poole, Chris Steel, Daniel Preston-Routledge, George Hedgley, Josh Burridge, Jack Barnard, Rob Baldwin (capt). Replacements: Ricardo Cano, Steve Graham, Joe Altham, Dan Solomi, Jimmy Bullough.
