TWO more Wharfedale old boys have returned to the fold.

Following fly half Tom Barrett and centre James Tincknell back to The Avenue are winger or full back Scott Jordan and prop Mike Bradshaw.

Having burst into the Westoe team in the second half of the 2010-11 season, scoring 12 tries in ten matches, the 19-year-old Jordan was recommended to the Dalesmen by former Greens star Mark Bedworth.

Jordan signed for them in August 2011, and showed that he knew his way to the line, although his three years with Wharfedale were punctuated by setbacks, such as a dislocated shoulder, a broken foot and a serious leg injury.

However, because he lived in Chorley, even when he signed for Preston Grasshoppers in November 2014, he said that The Avenue was his favourite ground, with then Greens coach Tommy McGee saying in March 2015: “Scott Jordan lives ten minutes away from the club he plays for (Preston Grasshoppers) but wants to come back to us even though that involves a long drive to training, because it isn’t the same not playing for us.”

Wharfedale's director of rugby James Doherty said this week: "Scott, who is a lively character, will cover the back three for us."

Bradshaw never played for the first XV at The Avenue in his previous spell but the former Yorkshire under-15 prop was loaned to Driffield during the 2012-13 season and also represented North Under-18s, alongside Josh Beaumont no less, and Yorkshire Under-20s.

The front-rower has returned from New Zealand and has apparently bulked up, with Doherty adding: "We hope to sign one or two more props before the season starts."

Wharfedale retained their Skiptens title in style last Saturday, winning all five matches and scoring 189 points while conceding just ten.

A delighted Doherty said: "We played for 100 minutes, and 60 minutes of those were back to back.

"Our fitness was good as we scored the most points in our last match, but we took a large squad and were therefore able to rotate.

"It was great to see Anthony Oxley do well as he has had such an injury-hit time with us, and probably hasn't played three matches in a row, but has impressed when he has been fit.

"Meanwhile, Ralph Wellock was outstanding all day, as were the Bulloughs (Jimmy and Harry) at half-back."
