National League Two North: Hinckley 31 Wharfedale 30

WHARFEDALE came away with two points from their visit to the Midlands but were left rueing what might have been.

Hinckley led 21-15 at half-time after a stuttering display by the Greens, but they tightened up their defence after the interval, scoring 15 unanswered points.

Heartbreak was to follow, however.

Dale seemed to have weathered the storm as Hinckley desperately attacked, with Dale winning a defensive scrum.

The referee then penalised Phil Woodhead for not putting the ball in quickly enough.

With two minutes to go, Hinckley opted for a scrum, pushed Dale back and Joe Glover touched down and then converted.

Two phases later Hinckley were awarded a penalty and Glover, with the last kick of the game, won the match.

Hinckley scored first after four minutes when Alex Salt burst through, Glover adding the extras.

Josh Prell then scored for Dale when Tom Davidson turned the ball over and set off in attack, feeding Prell, who rounded his opposite number and beat the cover to score.

Hinckley added two more converted tries from Alex Crocker and Glen Murray, with a Jamie Guy penalty in between for the visitors.

Dan Stockdale grabbed a try back for Dale before half-time, and Guy's conversion kept Dale within touch.

Two excellent tries from Scott Jordan, one of which was converted, and a penalty gave Dale a solid lead but then came that late heartbreak.
