Baildon RUFC U14s 20 North Ribblesdale U14s 19

NORTH Ribblesdale RUFC's U14s side will be wondering how they failed to beat Baildon at the weekend. An electric start saw them build a comfortable lead, but their opponents fought back to snatch an improbable 20-19 victory.

North Ribb travelled to Baildon having not played in a month due to bad weather. They showed little signs of rust early on, with centre Harris Dinsdale scoring two fine tries after contributions from Harry Mathew and Freddie Spensley.

Some sloppy defending allowed Baildon to reduce the arrears but when Joey Pratt went over to extend North Ribb's lead, the game looked to be in the bag.

Crucially from Baildon's point of view, they scored a well-worked second try before half-time to bring themselves back into the contest.

North Ribb's lack of recent competitive action began to show in the second half and they were punished for some hesitant rucking and defensive work.

The home side ran in two tries to secure a narrow comeback victory, holding on to win by a single point.

North Ribb's Murphy Brown was awarded with man-of-the-match for his efforts.
