Leodiensian II 0 North Ribblesdale A 54
NORTH Ribblesdale A cantered to a thumping victory at Crag Lane in their opening merit match of the season.
After holding out defensively during the opening exchanges, Ribblesdale’s backs moved the ball swiftly to Cameron Walton, who sprinted clear to score.
Michael Thwaite converted and the visitors claimed further tries before the break through Alan Newhouse, Walton and James Walton.
That put Ribblesdale 28-0 up and in total control at the interval.
Shortly after the restart, substitute Matthew Dakin marked his return from a long injury by breaking the line with his first touch of the ball before scoring under the posts.
One-way traffic lead to further tries from the powerful centre partnership of Graham Pettiford and Pat Illingworth, rounded off by a final score from Sam Alsop as the visitors made it three wins out of three this season.
