Scarborough 56 North Ribblesdale 3

NORTH Ribblesdale called on some of their most talented young players as they wer forced to field a weakened side at Scarborough.

It was to their credit that they stayed in touch with their East Coast rivals until being rocked by a devastating late burst of scoring.

The power of the home forwards was backed up by strong running from the three-quarters as Ribb struggled to stem the tide.

Flanker Jim Tunney was once again Ribb's man of the match and he is certainly proving to be the find of the season.

Andrew Thwaite continued his run of good form but Ribb were outweighed in the pack and the backline was starved of ball.

The best thing to say about this match is that Ribb kept their shape. It was very much a learning experience for the Long brothers who competed well.

Michael Thwaite scored Ribb's only points with a penalty as they held Scarborough to 15-3 at half-time.
