Beverley 47 North Ribblesdale 7

NORTH Ribblesdale went down to another heavy Yorkshire One defeat at the hand of the quickest backline they have faced for some time.

They were the big difference between the sides. Ribb had the better of the forward exchanges but every time Beverley got the ball outside their superior pace outflanked the visitors' defence and they ran in most of their tries from long range.

The tone was set in the sixth minute when left winger Webster scored the first of his three tries.

Jack Garvin added two further tries as Beverley opened a 19-0 lead.

Ribb battered away at the resolute Beverley defence and were rewarded when scrum half David Fox sneaked over for a try which John Davidson converted.

Beverley's adventurous running from deep brought them two more tries before the break from their elusive full back Luke Hazell and Will Harrison.

Four of the first half tries were converted by Harrison as Beverley established a commanding 33-7 half-time lead.

The second half saw the Ribb pack continue to hold the upper hand but they could not unlock the home defence.

Forward dominance was not enough and every time Beverley had the ball they opened up the Ribb defence .

Left winger Webster scored both Beverley's second -half tries as he completed his hat-trick, while Harrison landed both conversions to take his personal tally to 17 points.

Ribb's man of the match was Fox, while Will Booth had another good game making a lot of tackles and being very competitive in the loose.

Ribb's front row took the honours up front but while Jonathan Richards threatened Ribb could not get the ball around the Beverley defence.

Ribb face Keighley at home on Saturday. Keighley have had a decent start and Ribb will need all the up front fight they showed at Beverley.

They will need to create more outside in another tough game.
