Scarborough 14 North Ribblesdale 0

Match abandoned

North Ribblesdale had a fruitless journey to Scarborough as an injury to the referee just into the second half meant that the match had to be abandoned.

Ribb were losing 14 0 at the time but were coming back into the game strongly after another torrid start let the home side in for two early converted tries by Mikey Readman and winger Tom Ratcliffe.

Ribb’s forwards were working hard and just before the interval looked like getting a pushover try but the scrum broke up and the chance was gone.

In the next passage of play a poor pass to Latvian winger Martins Bokiss went to ground with the line at his mercy.

Ribb started the second half brightly with Will Booth Richard Wood and John Padley all tackling anything that moved and there was a feeling that they would get something from the game, but this was thwarted by the injury to the referee.

The game has been rearranged for January 21.

Ribb seem to be on an upward curve and are targeting another home win this week against Selby. Selection is becoming more difficult especially in the forwards and this week will see the debut of Gundars Griekis of Latvia at hooker in place of the holidaying Ian Close.
