Sheffield Medicals 31 Skipton 7
After last week’s great effort against top of the league Selby, Skipton arrived in confident mood to play a fit young medics side.
With four changes from their last game Skipton took to the field and showed the medics that they had a game on their hands .
A bright start faltered when Sheffield kicked a penalty to take a 3-0 lead.
From the restart Skipton took command and ten minutes later, after constant pressure from the Skipton pack, No.8 Tom Keady drove over for a fine try which captain Darren Howson converted to give Skipton a 7-3 lead .
They held on to this advantage until two minutes from the half-time break when Medicals took a scrum against the head to score a try through their backs. It gave them a 10-7 lead.
The second half was totally different to the first with Sheffield Medicals making all the moves.
Skipton only spent ten minutes in the opposition half.
Medicals built their lead with three converted tries, two late in the game, as Skipton buckled under the pressure.
On Saturday they play Roundhegians in a re-arranged match.
