Stanley Rodilians 5 Skipton 69

SKIPTON made it ten out of ten in Yorkshire Four with a comfortable win over Stanley Rodilians.

The cold and sleety conditions were far from ideal for rugby but Skipton got off to a good start.

Full back Matty Langstaff secured a penalty goal and flanker Tom Craven crossed for Skipton's first try to put the visitors 8-0 up within six minutes.

Centre Liam Jordan added try number two after 15 minutes with Langstaff tagging on the extra points.

Langstaff kicked another penalty goal five minutes later before Skipton moved into top gear and put winger Hamish Munro over for two further unconverted tries.

Just before half-time winger Jon Currie crossed for Skipton's fifth try. Langstaff added the extra points to establish a 35-0 lead at the break.

Sadly, Skipton's talismanic number eight Harry MacEneaney had to leave the field through injury.

Skipton piled on the pressure in the second half with tries from Josh Berrey and Josh Crane. Flanker Tom Craven was never far from the action and crossed again for Skipton's eighth try of the afternoon. Langstaff added the extra points.

Crane and Berrey added a further try each before the home side ran in a consolation try from an interception.

Skipton countered with a final try from Berrey with Crane putting his kicking boots on to add the extra points.

Skipton now face second-placed Hemsworth at home on Saturday.
