Hull Ionians Junior Colts 5 Wharfedale Junior Colts 50

DALE dropped several balls and failed to put phases of play together until an awesome steal five metres out by Archie Hancock led to a five-point lead for the Greens, Eddie Gill touching down.

Dale started to play in phases with first Michael Plunkett and then Jacob Taylor bursting over with tries converted by Tom Mann. Plunkett broke free again for a try on the half-time whistle.

Although 23 points down, Hull began the second half like Terriers to claw back a try.

But this fired the young Greens up again with first Taylor and then Mann, who ran three-quarters the length of the pitch, touching down.

Forward power led to Smith Middleton carrying the ball and several defenders over the line for Mann to convert from the touchline.

Joe Moorhouse and Matt Jackson closed out the scoring.

Skipton U-13s 12 Wharfedale U-13s 5

THIS was a gripping and hard-fought Yorkshire Cup tie, with Wharfedale putting Skipton under early pressure.

Despite dominating the scrum, the hosts failed to get out of their half for most of the first period.

However, due to robust defence, the Greens only crossed the try line once but knocked on, leaving the score 0-0 at half-time.

The Reds attacked more in the second half, and strong running from centre Sam Johnstone brought the first try, which was converted by Lewis Reynoldson.

Skipton capitalised again on their purple patch when Owen West powered over for the second try, only for Charles Booth to reply for the Dalesmen by running down the left wing to score.

Wharfedale continued to attack but superb tackling from Skipton's man of the match Mbako Chalashika saved certain scores, and Skipton held on for a deserved win.
