WHARFEDALE travel to London on Saturday to try out Rosslyn Park’s new plastic pitch, knowing that their performance will be watched by a bigger following than usual as the match is being streamed live to a fundraising beer festival at Grassington Town Hall.

And coach Tom McGee will be hoping that his team will be the toast of the revellers as they kick off a tough November schedule of National League One games which features three tricky away matches.

Next Saturday they visit Loughborough Students and after a home clash with high-flying Hartpury College on November 21, they round off the month with a trip to Richmond.

McGee is anxious that his side remain focussed for the full 80 minutes. He said: "We are losing our way in matches. Sometimes panic is setting in when we are under pressure and we let in three or four tries on the trot and that leaves us playing catch up.

"The win at home to Darlington Mowden Park, the victory at Blaydon and our performance at Blackheath should be the templates for the standards we seek to achieve each week.

"Since the start of the season we have improved our defensive structure, tightened up the scrum and improved the line-out, but we have to cut out erratic performances like the one against Ampthill in our last home game."

Ambitious Rosslyn Park were one of the pre-season favourites for promotion, but defeats at Blackheath and Fylde have seen them drop to sixth place at the crowded top end of the table.

Last week’s win at Coventry is a reminder to the rest of the division, however, that with four London clubs in the top six it is once again the capital city which is setting the pace.

Wharfedale’s explosive winger Dan Tai is missing with a hamstring injury so Max Labasse moves to the wing with Harry Bullough taking over at full back.

Lock Simon Willet is back from injury and starts in place of the injured Jim Mason. Tom Whyte and Oliver Fewtrell come on to the bench.

Wharfedale: Harry Bullough; Max Labasse; Cameron Hudson, Huw Morgan, Matt van Sertima; Jamie Guy, Harry Skelton; Joe Altham, Dan Stockdale, Ali Wade, Simon Willet, George Hedgley, Josh Burridge (c), Chris Howick, Rob Baldwin. Replacements: Chris Steel, Ricardo Cano, Tom Whyte, Nathan Myers, Oliver Fewtrell.
