Steel joins Wharfedale's 100 club

Wharfedale are greeting another member of the 100 Club this week at home to Macclesfield.

Last week Dan Solomi marked his century of starts for the Dalesmen, and on Saturday it’s the turn of prop Chris Steel.

Having sustained a broken leg and ankle damage at Cov-entry last December, many assumed that Steel’s season was over but he has worked hard at his recovery and came off the bench at Tynedale last week.

And one of Wharfedale’s successful replacements at Tynedale, 19-year-old Lloyd Davies, makes his first start.

He takes over at full back from Tom Davidson, who was injured last week.

Macclesfield, in their sec-ond season in SSE National League One, were one of the form sides at the start of the campaign, beating the Greens 31-12 in September.

Despite a recent run of poor form, which ended with last week’s home win over Cinder-ford, they will comfortably finish in the top six.

Wharfedale: Lloyd Davies, James Druce, Andy Hodgson, James Tincknell, Simon Horsfall; Tom Barrett, Philip Woodhead; Chris Steel, Steve Graham, Mark Tampin, Richard Brown, Richard Rhodes, James Holland, Rob Baldwin (captain), Dan Solomi. Replacements: Neil Dickinson, Ben Sowrey, Jim Mason, James Gough, Will Bell.
