Feeley is Wharfedale's new backs coach

Wharfedale have appointed winger or full back Jon Feeley as their new backs coach.

The 35-year-old school- teacher joins them from Sheffield Tigers where he held the role of player-coach and he bring a wealth of playing experience to the post.

Feeley was an Academy graduate of Leeds Carnegie, and played for them from 1998-2000, before moving to Wakefield, Sedgley Park, Rotherham Titans and Sheffield Tigers.

Feeley was also part of a star-studded Bradford Bulls side that won the 2002 Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham, defeating London Wasps 42-14 in the final.

The Bulls’ squad that day included the likes of Robbie Paul, Lesley Vainikolo, Michael Withers, Tevita Vaikona, Leon Pryce, Nathan McAvoy, Jamie Peacock, Lee Gilmour and Rob Parker.

Feeley replaces Leeds Carnegie full back Michael Stephenson at The Avenue, the latter’s commitments with Leeds meaning he was seldom able to watch the Greens in action.

Feeley is expected to be part of the Dalesmen’s squad for 2012-13 having recovered from breaking an arm twice last season.
