Joel Gill has left Wharfedale to join Championship outfit Rotherham Titans.

The 21-year-old former Otley centre has a reputation that oozes potential.

Physically strong, Gill has represented Yorkshire under-20s and is also capable of covering the scrum half position.

Titans’ assistant coach Ben Wade said: “Joel is a young talent coming through. He’s played National League One with Wharfedale and had a very good season with them. He’s a centre but can also play scrum half, so he will provide us with options. “He's a very powerful, strong boy with lots of pace and during pre-season he’ll have the opportunity to show us what he can do and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Rotherham have also signed winger Laurence Pearce from Hull RUFC but he has also played rugby league for Hull FC and York City Knights.
