For the umpteenth time this season rain ravaged play in the Craven League with all but three games failing to reach a conclusion.

It was a good day for the batsmen in the Craven League as eight centuries were scored. It was however a bad day for the home sides in the top division as only Crossflatts recorded a win.

Up to last Saturday it was fair to say the Cullingworth, on League form, were odds on favourites to take the Wynn Cup back to Roydwood Terrace for the second time in their history. However Oakworth's stirring fight back last Saturday has shortened their odds, but maybe not quite enough to make them favourites. Nevertheless this crunch final between two of the top teams in this years competition could be a match to savour.

After last week's excitement of two days cricket without rain, the weather turned on Saturday morning to once again plague cricketers in the Craven League.

The frustrations for many cricketers continued when the 20 hours of rain fell on Friday and Saturday morning put paid to all but six games in the League.

Yet again some of the Craven League's cricketers were left frustrated because of the weather conditions. However in the games where play was possible there were some intriguing results.

The fine weather which arrived late on Saturday morning was not in time to save half of the scheduled Craven & District Cricket League games.

ANOTHER weekend's cricket was badly affected by the dreadful wet weather.
