Rain relents but cricket is still under a cloud
 |
| The scene at Skipton CC, where no play was possible |
ANOTHER weekend's cricket was badly affected by the dreadful wet weather.
Although Saturday saw little rain and even the odd glimpse of sunshine, days of rain had left outfields saturated or even flooded.
In the Ribblesdale League Barnoldswick did get a full game but it was another defeat, going down to Cherry Tree, despite 72 from substitute pro Mohammad Farukh.
Earby were skittled out for 95 and Blackburn Northern passed the total with all 10 wickets intact but Settle's game was called off.
In the Aire-Wharfe League, Skipton's ground was unfit for play but Upper Wharfedale clinched victory over New Rover.
Only three games in the Craven League First Division went ahead - but there were some key results.
With leaders Thornton out of action, Cullingworth beat Glusburn to go top, but second place Crossflatts lost to Embsay. Relegation threatened Cowling only scored 55 runs but that was enough as they skittled out Sandy Lane for 41.
Sunday allowed some Wynn Cup third round matches to go ahead: Oakworth beat Pendle Forest, Cullingworth beat Ingrow and Thornton beat Chatburn.
