Dinsdale hat-trick earns a cup double for Rimington
The Skipton Building Society Norman Pratt Trophy Final replay between Rimington and Gargrave proved as close as the first encounter when the two teams were locked at two goals each at full time.
With the possibility of the light disappearing before extra time could be completed both teams opted for a penalty shoot-out which Rimington won 4-3.
Gargrave got off to the perfect start when from the kick off a swift attack brought a goal for Christain Moon and it took Rimington some time to settle before they drew level when a free kick was deflected off the wall to give Adam Hudson in the Gargrave goal no chance.
Each side continued to cancel each other out until Gargrave regained the lead shortly before half time when a defender turned the ball into his own net.
Rimington began to have more possession in the second half and Hudson made some crucial saves to keep his goal intact while at the other end Gargrave's attack was making little impression on a resolute defence.
It was no surprise when Rimington's Gary Brunskill crowned a good display by heading the equaliser thus earning the Man of the Match award and sending the final to the dreaded penalties with Rimington emerging as victors in their third successive final.
The trophies were presented by Craven FA chairman John Cox.
The Craven Challenge Cup Final at Barnoldswick Town FC was played in front of a 200-plus crowd on Friday as Ingleton took on Rimington.
After a first half when neither side played to their full potential the game livened up with Ingleton pulling two goals immediately after the break to draw level with Rimington who had a two goal first half lead.
On an immaculate playing surface the game was played in almost constant rain with Rimington settling better than Ingleton who were content to use the long ball much to the despair of their supporters.
It was the Rimington followers who were cheering when Glen Dinsdale opened the scoring and they built a two goal cushion when Tom O'Neill was on hand at the far post to convert a cross.
Ingleton's only noteworthy attempt to score was when Graeme Kershaw saved well from Chris Bibby.
Immediately after the break Ingleton were awarded a penalty which Phil Eccleston dispatched with ease and minutes later the scores were level when long-serving Bibby shot home to give his side some hope.
With the weather deteriorating Dinsdale was on hand to force the ball home which was only allowed after the match officials had consulted each other and he crowned a outstanding display with his hat-trick goal earning the Ronnie Jones Man of the Match award.
Rimington were good value for their 4-2 victory with Ingleton recovering some pride with the second half display.
