County FA uphold league's Settle United decision

As the Craven League has now established its constitution for the 2008/09 season, Settle United's reserves team will be not allowed to be promoted to Division Two.
Settle United, who had only one team in the league last season, won the Division Three title but in doing so league president Gerry Aldersley said they fielded several players from their East Lancashire League first team during their seven-game winning run at the end of the season.
At the league's May management committee meeting they decided to deduct six points from the club, denying them the title. Settle appealed to the West Riding County FA but it was dismissed.
With the league's decision upheld, Silsden Whitestar were promoted as champions and Barnoldswick Barons also gained promotion as runners-up.
This season, Settle United's firsts have rejoined the league and they were placed in Division One.
Two new teams, Wilsden and Ravenscliffe, were put in Division Two and three other new teams, Long Preston, Colne FC Juniors and Ingrow & Worth Village, have been placed in Division Three along with four new reserve teams from Barnoldswick Barons, Long Lee Juniors, Pendle Athletic and Silsden Whitestar.
Oxenhope Recreation will retain its place in the Premier Division, although their first team will now play in the West Yorkshire League.
