Wharfedale will be without Horsfall

WHARFEDALE, after committing enough errors in their cup tie against Hull to last an entire season, return to league duty with their first ever visit to Westcombe Park on Saturday.

Simon Horsfall is not risked after his injury last week, his place going to Neil Baggett, while Chris Steele returns from his Yorkshire Cup duties elsewhere.

Wharfedale won the reverse fixture only last month, scoring six tries in the process.

Wharfedale have selected: Adam Whaites; Chris Malherbe, Andy Hodgson, Mark Bedworth, Neil Baggett; Andy Baggett (c), James Doherty; Tom Horner, Gavin Hindle, Chris Steel, David Lister, Antony Capstick, Alastair Allen, Rob Lednor, Rob Baldwin. Replacements: Peter Altham, Titman Bryce, Oliver Renton, Luke Gray.

Wharfedale pair Luke Gray and Joel Gill are back in the Yorkshire U-20 team as the defending champions expect to be at full strength for the National RU U-20 Championship semi-final against North Midlands at Malton & Norton RFC on Sunday.

Yorkshire have the same pack which helped them to a 62-5 win over Northumberland in their last game, which wrapped up a clean sweep of the Northern division games, but are boosted by the return of three players behind the scrum including centre Gray and scrum-half Gill who were unavailable for the previous game.

Wharfedale have four players in the squad with Peter Altham and Tom Cokell on the replacement bench.

The final will be played at Twickenham on May 10.

SKIPTON are expecting their biggest crowd of the season for their home game against local rivals North Ribblesdale on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Not only is it the final league game of the season but it is the only home game since the Reds secured their promotion place for Yorkshire Division One rugby next season.

The home crowd will want to applaud their team who are gaining promotion for the second successive year to their highest level since the league system started.

It is many years since the two local teams met competitively at Sandylands and Ribb will be wanting to claim Skipton's scalp given that the Reds won at Settle when the two teams met earlier in the season.

Without doubt a lot of local pride is at stake. As in recent weeks, Skipton have delayed selection until after players have passed a fitness test at Thursday's training session.

North Ribblesdale are in good heart after their win over West Park and apart from injured centre Ben Topham they are at full strength.

The squad is: Chapman; Simpson, Richards, Bartlett, Bolland; Davidson, Fox; Thwaite, Stubbs, Newhouse, Garth, Stacey, Carr, Dakin, Kirkbride. Repl. Ogden, Cowperthwaite
