Hi John, yes very sad indeed, but a release for Dad and he is now finally with Mum. I think Dad definitely made the right decision to move here, but Skipton will always be in my heart, many happy memories of our childhood there. I remember you coming over, that just seems so long ago now. Unfortunately Paula was not able to travel to NZ for the funeral, so we streamed it live to her. The borders open on the 19th April between the 2 countries, so she is booked to come on the 1st May. It was a lovely funeral, and we made it a celebration of his life, with loads of photos and a story about his life. He made about 9 or 10 trips to Canada, maybe more over the last 20 years, he found great joy traveling solo canoeing in the Yukon, he last trip was only 5 years ago, but was getting difficult for him as his memory was starting to fail then. I certainly think Dad lived a very full life, and I will always remember his can do attitude, nothing phased him. Take care, Helen

Sorry to hear of Arthur passing away , enjoyed spending time with your Family back in 1981,when I was having a working holiday in New Zealand & Australia .Think he definitely made the right choice to move you all there ,nicer way of life .Certainly this last year over here with this Pandemic been frustrating bigtime ,New Zealand handled it so much better. Lost two relative recently over here and not able to have more than 15 at a Funeral .So at least you will be able to celebrate his life properly .
