YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
(FOOTPATH NO. 44 (PART), REETH, FREMINGTON & HEALAUGH) ORDER 2021 N0.1 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along part of Footpath No. 44 from the point of closure at Grid Reference SE 0345 9902 for a distance of approximately 110 metres to Grid Reference SE 0338 9895 in the Parish of Reeth, Fremington 8 Mealaugh in the district of Richmondshire from 8 February, 2021 until 18 July, 2021 inclusive. This Order follows an Emergency Notice dated 18 January, 2021 until 7 February, 2021 inclusive.
The closure will be put into effect when necessary by means of the erection of notices and signs. The alternative route to be used during the closure period will be as follows:
From the point of closure at Grid Reference SE 0345 9902 proceed north for approx. 100 metres to join a footpath bearing west, continue west for approx. 596 metres to a footpath bearing immediately south, continue south for a short distance of approx. 26 metres to join a footpath and continue in an easterly direction for approx. 540 metres to point of closure at Grid Reference SE 0338 9895 and return.
The closure is because of the likelihood of danger to public safety owing to recent river bank erosion adjacent to the footpath surface, which is no longer safe for use due to its close proximity to deep pools and rapid river eddies. Dated 5 February 2021 Clare Bevan (Solicitor),
Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Bainbridge
